Drinking and dining at White City Place

Three new restaurants have recently signed deals with developers and landowners Stanhope, AIMCo and Mitsui Fudosan to come to White City Place, the new dynamic business district in west London. Wellbourne, Shola and WAKA will open in the WestWorks building, enhancing an already leading line-up of existing independent restaurants.

Wellbourne was started by two friends who have been chefs in some of London’s most iconic restaurants, including recently closed Michelin-starred Dabbous. They have chosen White City Place as their third venue, having launched in Clifton village in Bristol, opening their second site in the Pyrenees in November 2017. Wellbourne’s morning brunch menu will include breakfast favourites made freshly in-house and will offer that 70s staple vol-au-vents and a vibrant all-day menu from midday.

Shola is the first permanent London site for founder Aida Khan, who grew up in Abu Dhabi and Karachi. Studying at Leith’s School of Food and Wine, Aida’s passion for cooking led to her hosting two seasons of Pakistani TV show ‘For The Love of Food’. Her extensive resume includes hosting sold out ‘Gourmet Karachi Supper Club’ pop-up around London and catering for events with her unique take on the traditional Pakistani cuisine she grew up with.

WAKA, London’s first “grab-and-go” Nikkei restaurant, the vibrant fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine, will open its second restaurant in White City Place. Previously only found in high-end restaurants, WAKA makes Nikkei food available to everyone. You will find a selection of sushi, bento and ceviche on the menu along with a variety of hot bowls, customer favourites include the Maracuya Salmon Tiradito and the Truffle Tuna Tataki.

White City Place is already host to a great mix of dining experiences, catering for those looking for meat, veggie, vegan or gluten/dairy free-from options. Workers, local residents and visitors can already enjoy authentic New-York style pizza at Pizza Street, freshly-made Greek cuisine at The Athenian, American baked goods at Butterscotch and fast service Italian at Coco di Mama. Feast Bar & Kitchen launched in December 2017, managed by the company behind Pergola on the Roof. The drinking and dining destination features a rotating line-up of London’s best vendors, currently hosting traditional Mexican joint, Del 74 and Hackney comfort food experts, Morty & Bob’s.
