Hammersmith Park is playing host to a Japanese Garden Party on Sunday 29th July, from 12.30 – 6.00pm with live music, family activities and Japanese food to celebrate the recent improvements and regeneration of the garden.
The party, hosted by the Japan Society, together with the Embassy of Japan and the Friends of Hammersmith Park, will unveil the first of the recent improvements in the shape of an avenue of stone lanterns and Japanese-style entrance gates.
Visitors will have the chance to make origami, do a calligraphy workshop, listen to Japanese music, or try some noodle soup. There will also be taiko drumming, ramen and two special performances by contemporary Japanese artists Ichi and Hatis Noit.
Guests are invited to drop in during the afternoon and do not need to book in advance
