Television Centre pays tribute to NHS staff with stunning light display and artwork projection on iconic building’s façade
May 8, 2020
ShareTwo Television Centre residents have come together to project a spectacular blue light installation over the Helios Courtyard in a tribute to the NHS.
As the sun went down on Thursday evening the artwork lit up the sky in West London. The display followed the weekly Clap For Our Carers.
Designed to signify hope, forward thinking and positivity during this challenging time, the beams of blue lights were stimulated over the fountain alongside a large projection of the NHS logo on the side of the iconic Television Centre façade. The artwork was a bespoke creation by illustrator Guy Field.
Creative Producer and Television Centre resident, Jack Bryant says “we wanted to create an installation that represents the ongoing support for the NHS and to bring a little light into people’s lives during this period of isolation. The backdrop of Television Centre, which we walk past every day, seemed like the perfect place.”
This initiative is one of many at Television Centre that is embracing the neighbourhood community spirit and support for the emergency services. Live singing from the Helios courtyard has now become a weekly set and neighbouring White City Place office building has joined the Light It Blue campaign.
