Local school return to TVC to help with Spring planting
Mar 29, 2022
ShareHaving visited Television Centre last September for a tour of the gardens, ten green-fingered children from local school Wormholt Park Primary returned to help the gardening team with Spring planting.
The children were shown around by garden management team leader Brian who explained the role of the team in maintaining the plants and landscaping the gardens. They were able to examine flowers, plants and everything else the TVC gardens have to offer. The children learnt the names of plants, why they were chosen for each area and what happens when they die off and the team must begin re-planting in the spring.
It is an important part of the year for the gardening team as they are planting ahead of the summer. The children were on hand to help with the process and scattered seeds which will flower in the next few months.
The visit was enjoyed by all and no doubt the children will return in the future to see the fruits of their labour!
