Television Centre Celebrates Black History Month

ShareThis October, Television Centre celebrates Black History Month with a vibrant events programme, hosted in partnership with the BBC and Publicis Media, featuring food, fitness, music, creativity and independent businesses that showcase Black culture. Head to the Lower Forecourt and 2 TVC reception area across the month to honour heritage, creativity and community.
TVC Eats: Flavours of Black Culture | Lower Forecourt | Thursday 8 & 22 October | 11:30 to 14:30
Explore dishes from Rachael Cooks, It Bangs Ltd, Puff Puff Man, Kickin Kreole and The Black Farmer, bringing bold flavours to the Lower Forecourt across two afternoons this October. DJ Ace will provide the soundtrack, whilst visitors tuck into incredible food, soak up the atmosphere and celebrate the flavours, sounds and creativity of Black culture.
The event is free and open to all, so come hungry and discover something new!
TVC Finds: Black British Bazaar, Expressions of Black Culture | 2 Television Centre Reception | Thursday 8 & 22 October | 11:30 to 14:30
Held in collaboration with Publicis Media, discover Black-owned brands and makers at TVC Finds. The exciting line-up features Y-Fit Wear, Nina Bombina, YAMMIEE and African Chica, showcasing fashion, gifts, accessories and unique finds from Black-owned brands and makers. With a live DJ setting the soundtrack, visitors can browse the pop-ups, meet the makers and enjoy the atmosphere of a market dedicated to Black creativity and entrepreneurship.
Move to the Rhythm with Sweat In The City & DJ Ace | Lower Forecourt | Tuesday 6 & 20 October | 12:30 to 13:15
Held in collaboration with the BBC, these Tuesday lunchtime sessions offer a feel-good workout with Sweat In The City.
Led by founder and qualified fitness instructor Andrea Wallace, this energetic soca aerobics class combines upbeat Caribbean rhythms, accessible fitness moves and movement inspired by traditional Caribbean dance. The class is designed for all fitness levels, from regular gym users to complete beginners, and celebrates Black History Month through the joy of Caribbean music, movement and culture.
