The Summer Olympics
White City Stadium is built to host to the games and establish the area as a destination for culture. Setting the standard from the very start.
1947
Transport links are transformed
White City Underground Station opened, followed by Wood Lane in 2008. New connections meant even easier access to the centre of the city.
1960
The BBC comes home
Opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1961, the original BBC Television centre becomes the flagship site for all things entertainment.
1979
Sir David Attenborough launches “Life”
The first in a long line of groundbreaking series’ spotlighting ecosystems across the earth, the show set the pace for Sir David Attenborough’s prolific presenting career.
2012
A new chapter
Mitsui Fudosan, AimCo and Stanhope acquired Television Centre from the BBC and began plans to forge a future for the area with its legacy in mind.
2024
The Final Collection
