New, public art in the form of ‘gaming tables’ have arrived at Television Centre. In a creative collaboration between Television Centre, The Art of Ping Pong and artist Kelly Anna, a series of artistically designed ping pong tables now enliven the forecourt of the iconic West London destination. Designer Kelly Anna, best known for her powerful, silhouette figures with a strong focus on movement, has brought her playful aesthetic and style to the space, luring visitors and locals to step into a playful world this Summer and beyond.

Television Centre appointed Kelly Anna for her colourful and bold figures with a strong focus on sport. Kelly’s designs for the campaign are bright and colourful, and her energetic compositions flow around movement. While each design is unique, an artwork in itself, the four tables have been designed as a cohesive set to create a visual display for the destination. In these designs, the powerful figure wins over the space, adorned with bright, poppy elements creating a sense of play and joyful gamesmanship. The bold colours and grand features were inspired by the Television Centre; reflecting its inclusive community, playfulness, and its ability to create a sense of place.

The interactive artworks are available for visitors, locals and all to enjoy for free this Summer. With the return of Television Centre’s live outdoor screen and it’s ‘Summer of Sport’ live programme in the coming weeks, the whole outdoor area is a must-visit spot in West London.

Kelly Anna commented on the collaboration: “I have really enjoyed partaking in this collaboration with Television Centre, creating a vibrant, social place for the community to interact and be active. The artwork is bespoke to the site and I love that it’s outdoors for everyone to admire. My work blends fluid lines and strong graphic shapes which I feel is representative of the surrounding architecture and strong design aesthetic of Television Centre.”

The Art of Ping Pong - with their team of pro players - will be hosting skills, drills and tournaments over the Summer period. More details coming soon. The ping pong tables have been designed to create a focal point for the community to gather, collaborate, connect and enjoy and will live as a permanent installation on site.
